Each man traveled to bring a rare, physical gift including gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Each man rode on a different animal from a different continent known at the time: the horse from Europe; the camel from Asia and; the elephant from Africa. woman’s life: the maiden, mother, and crone. Unlike the four-footed ones who carried the Three Wise Men, the Magi Sisters swooped in on the wings of the feathered ones carrying their secret, non-tangible gifts for birthing miracles. Sparrow, Eagle, and Owl provided their special transportation. However, did you know that Three Wise Women also arrived at the manger? They, too, sought to share their secret gifts to help birth and celebrate miracles. The word “magi” has roots from the Old French magique “magic, magical,” or the Old Persian magush. Indeed miracles are often seen as magical events of the paranormal and do not often appear. Indulge me with this magical, allegorical story… But you need not view miracles this way any longer.
